Manifesto
We saw the need to offer honest locksmith services to the general public at an affordable price point. The Vancouver Police Department Crime Incident Statistics Report indicate that 12% of all property crimes involve breaking and entering in January 2018 (Source: https://vancouver.ca/police/Planning/2018/201801D.pdf). While we might not be able to put an end to all criminal activities, we are here to increase your security and contribute to the overall safety of our community. |
Our Goal
Our goal is to cultivate a safe neighbourhood by deterring criminals from victimizing our family and friends. Be proactive and take preventive measures now by investing your time and money to safeguard your home or your business. Contact us to request for a quote. 604-506-LOCK |
Our Drive
We know about the locksmith scams in our community and that is why we made it our personal responsibility to educate the public. While it is required for all locksmiths in BC to obtain a license under the Security Services Act, it is not the be-all-end-all of an honest locksmith. Our drive is deeply rooted in mitigating against the fraudulent activities that are adversely affecting the reputation of the security sector and more importantly, our neighborhoods. |
Some key indicators of locksmith scams can include:
Over-charging for emergency services. You're locked out of your home and you need a locksmith urgently. Believe it or not, there are locksmith scam artists who will take advantage of your desperate situation. You can potentially be grossly overcharged if you simply contact a locksmith based on your Google search.
Under-charging for locksmith services. The industry rate for a locksmith is not $25 (don't be that guy). Unlicensed and dishonest fraudsters will advertise outrageously low prices on the internet to capture your attention but don't be fooled and follow your instincts.

What are some tips we can offer?
Step 1. Before contacting a locksmith verify their Security Business License Status online and check the Better Business Bureau website for any past misconducts. Under the Security Services Act, businesses and individuals offering security services in BC must hold a valid security license. A criminal background check is required before a license is issued by the Registrar of Security Services. Verifying the business is licensed is only step 1 of 2.
Step 2: Verify that the individual locksmith holds a current security license to ensure the person showing up at your doorstep does not have a criminal record. Do not jeopardize the safety of your family by welcoming a known criminal into your home! Remember, the Ministry of Justice will conduct a thorough investigation of all locksmith applicants before issuing a license. Applicants must produce a clean record and their fingerprints are collected.

Step 3. When the locksmith arrives, check out their vehicle. If they roll up in an unmarked vehicle, you know what to do.
Step 4. Before the locksmith starts the job, ask to see their license. Let them know your method of payment and request for a receipt. If the locksmith pressures you into paying in cash for a "better deal," consider this a red flag.
When you engage a locksmith, you deserve to be treated professionally. Trusting your instincts and doing your homework in advance can virtually eliminate your chances of being victimized.
